Nasirat Summer Camp Sydney, Australia
Written By Saima Fazeel - National Secretary Nasirat Lajna Imaillah Australia
By the grace of Almighty Allah, Nasirat-ul-Ahmadiyya Sydney successfully held a two-day summer camp on the 10th and 11th of January 2026 with an attendance of 98 Nasirat on Day 1, and 86 Nasirat on Day 2. The event was designed to foster spiritual growth, personal confidence, and sisterhood among the participants, allowing them to fully enjoy their time at the mosque.
The first day began with registration after which Nasirat were encouraged to write their personal goals on a ‘Goal Wall’ of what they would like to achieve by the end of the camp. This was followed by the formal proceedings, including tilawat, hadith, and nazm, and a briefing on camp rules and general housekeeping.
The morning session, titled "My Superpowers," focused on self-discovery. Nasirat identified their personal strengths, aspects they liked about their religion and what they enjoyed about being in Nasirat. After lunch, the afternoon was filled with diverse activities, including a presentation on current ‘Trends’ by the Nasirat themselves. A cooking class was held where Nasirat prepared Milo Balls and Fairy Bread (a very common and popular Australian, fun and colourful treat for children). An Art and Crafts session was held during which Nasirat worked on making wool bracelets and pencil cases. Nasirat also participated in an indoor sports activity followed by a fun game of water fight. The day concluded with dinner and Maghrib prayers.
The second day commenced with a presentation and group discussions on maintaining a healthy digital balance, titled “Freeing Our Families From the Harmful Use of Technology,”. Outdoor sports which consisted of three legged races, obstacle courses and 50m races were held. On the second day Nasirat also participated in a creative workshop where they had the opportunity to make paintings and greeting cards for their mothers and teachers. The highlight of the day was the “Talent Show and Tell,” where Nasirat displayed a variety of handmade items, showcasing their immense creativity.
Throughout the two days of the Nasirat Summer Camp, various Amila members were invited to introduce their respective departments to the Nasirat. This provided the Nasirat with an opportunity to gain insight into the different areas of work within Lajna Imaillah, ask questions, and express their interests. The interactive sessions encouraged engagement and helped the Nasirat better understand how they can serve Jamaat in the future. At the conclusion of Day 2, the Nasirat were asked to write their names along with the departments they were most interested in, allowing us to identify areas of interest and begin early guidance and training as they prepare to transition into Lajna.
The program concluded with an address from the National Secretary Nasirat, National Sadr Sahiba and silent prayer. Towards the end of the program the Nasirat and volunteers were given goody bags as a special thanks for their outstanding work and cooperation throughout the event. Nasirat also assisted in the wind up by cleaning the premises, demonstrating their commitment to the discipline of the camp.
